SIMULATORS

VxMaster Simulator

The VxMaster Crane Simulator provides a fully immersive and cost-effective solution for training centres to implement rigorous, standards-based heavy equipment training. It leads the industry with real crane models and controls, the renowned Vortex physics engine, high-resolution worksites, an Instructor’s station and more, providing the ideal high-fidelity environment for building real operator skills.

VxMaster uses immersive visuals combined with accurate equipment behaviour, providing many benefits for training centres and equipment operators.

Prepares Students for Real-World Challenges

VxMaster employs advanced equipment behaviour models, authentic crane controls and high-resolution computer graphics to provide a complete crane-operator environment. It is a modular and configurable solution that features beginner to advanced training scenarios on Mobile, Tower and Lattice Boom cranes, which are based on actual Grove, Liebherr and Manitowoc models and specifications. Students learn real operator skills that increase job performance and safety, and reduce equipment maintenance and training costs.

A Fully Immersive Training Environment

VxMaster achieves stunning realism through four components: High-fidelity physics simulation; lifelike 3D graphics; authentic equipment and ambient sound; and actual industrial LCD, pedals and hand controls. VxMaster features a high-resolution graphics processor, multiple large HD displays and a sophisticated head-tracking system. The powerful Vortex physics engine perfectly duplicates key crane features and functionality – such as engines, boom size and length, hydraulics systems, and outriggers – to deliver the highest degree of realism for effective operator training.

Measures Performance and Skills Development

VxMaster ensures uniform, measurable training progress and can prepare students for COO examinations. Training sessions can be recorded and played back for trainer and student review. Trainers select from predefined worksites – which they can also modify – or build new ones. They can build student skills through hundreds of possible lift/move operations, and by changing sunlight and shadows, as well as cloud/fog generation. They can challenge students with unstable loads and uneven ground, and introduce unexpected events such as cable breaks, high wind gusts and outrigger footing failures. The Instructor’s station can also be used to train signalers.

Multiple Benefits

Since VxMaster uses immersive visuals combined with accurate equipment behaviour, it provides many benefits for training centres and equipment operators.

  • Lowers training costs and accelerates training schedules by reducing the need to utilize expensive operations equipment
  • Safely trains operators to work in difficult environments, react to equipment failure, and perform emergency procedures
  • Provides worksite-specific rehearsal and performance-improvement training
  • Reduces equipment maintenance costs and allows training to take place anywhere, any time
  • Allows individual student performances to be recorded and evaluated
  • Establishes consistent standards-based NCCCO training
