VxVehicles

The powerful VxVehicles module provides an unparalleled toolkit of industry-unique capabilities that allow you to:

  • Create highly realistic wheeled and tracked vehicles based on engineering design parameters. VxVehicles is the only commercially available simulation module for producing real-time 3D tracked vehicles
  • Build complete driver simulations, integrating vehicle controls directly with VxVehicles inputs and outputs
  • Deploy electric drives, multiple tracks, rigid or flexible tracks, articulated chassis, and several industry-standard tire-terrain models. Vehicles can combine any number of wheels and/or tracks in any configuration
  • Simulate complete vehicle dynamics: the chassis, wheels, suspension, and power train
  • Incorporate modifiable track, tire, and terrain properties using common vehicle engineering data models
  • Tune and validate vehicle simulations against empirical measurements
  • Mimic vehicle system faults and associated behaviours due to flexible parameters and constraints that can be modified in real-time
  • Set the vehicle’s axes and create its chassis, including defining its mass and centre of mass
  • Add a power train, which comprises an engine, a torque converter, an automatic transmission, and a differential
  • Tune the engine using a full, adapted, or scalable torque table. The torque table describes the amount of torque the engine can deliver at a set RPM and for a given amount of throttle
  • Define the transmission’s gear ratios and final gear ratio, and program automatic gear changing based on RPM
  • Specify simple or quick gear-shifting modes
  • Add suspension for wheeled or tracked vehicles, including stiffness and damping behaviour
  • Define steering and brake controls
  • Select from multiple tire models such as Magic Formula, Composite Slip, Fiala, and Soft Terrain, and specify tire normal force
  • Configure rolling resistance on soil when using the Soft Terrain tire model
  • Set the rolling resistance for tracked vehicles based on the terrain, as well as on internal friction in the wheel bearings and track deformation
  • Create idler and sprocket parts for tracked vehicles manually or automatically from your specifications
